Subfolder rights inheritance - dzingis - 06-22-2010 Subject says it all. Is there a way (like in Windows explorer)to add right to some user to access folder and that rights are to be inherited to all subfolders? Now I have to access to folders one by one and add rights. This is logical too, but my directory tree is huge and this take a time... Regards RE: Subfolder rights inheritance - matteo lucarelli - 07-22-2010 This is the standard working mode of all forlder and document permission. If You don't edit the permission will be hinerited from the parent folder RE: Subfolder rights inheritance - dzingis - 07-22-2010 (07-22-2010, 06:10 PM)matteo lucarelli Wrote: This is the standard working mode of all forlder and document permission. Hi Matteo, you say if user have write permission on folder A. than user will have write permission to all A subfolders? RE: Subfolder rights inheritance - matteo lucarelli - 07-22-2010 Yes, if all subfolders and documents are leaved in "hinerited mode" permission. RE: Subfolder rights inheritance - alekseyn - 08-03-2010 matteo, the inheritance of subfolders and documents does not work in 1.9 ... if you press "Copy inherited access list" only then the permissions change... but if you press "Inherit access" again, the "all access" rights are back to owner only... irregardless of the parent folder permissions... with your latest content overview modification (more detailed view mod) it's quite easy to see that this does not work... I will keep looking.. but if you are reading this, then probably I need help with this )))) |
