Updating comment doesn't show
#1
letoDMS 2.0.1 - when you select a document that has no comment, then use 'edit document' to add a comment, the new comment doesn't show in the folder content view of 'Contents'. It is recorded at the document level, since if you go back to the document, the new comment is there....

Can you explain step by step, please?

Add a new document to a folder. Do not enter a comment. After uploading use 'edit document' at the top, and type something into the comment field to update the document. Go back to the folder view. The comment doesn't show. Select the document again and this time select 'edit comment' at the righthand side. Enter a comment. Go back to the folder view, and now it appears.

I cannot reproduce your bug in the way you describe.
The document comment is correctly updated both in "document view" and "folder view" after having edit it with the "edit document" command.

Have you refresh the folder view or are you simply going there with the back command of your browser?

Note that the "edit comment" and the "edit document" actually modifies different comments: the first edits the version comment and the latter edits the document comment. The comment shown in the folder view is the document one, so "edit comment" has no effect on the folder view, and that's right.

Sorry
I made the original post, but I discovered my confusion just around the time you posted the explanation. It's obviously not a bug, but the multiple use of the field description as 'comment' may confuse other people too.

You're right. The use of multiple comments field has confused some people. There are comment for the document and comment for every version. The actual arragement seems to me the best possibile, but could be improve in some way. Any suggestion?

How about renaming the comment for the version as 'Version Comment'? You could go further and call the document comment 'Document Comment'. I think that would make it a bit more obvious as to what is going on with the two 'comments'. At least to bozos such as myself.

Good observation but this currently involved a lot of languages files, ad we are in lack of translators!
