Using a remote database?
#1
Hi,

I have installed letoDMS 3.0.0-1 on Ubuntu 11.10 (from package).
Installation worked smoothly (which cannot be said about my last attempt on a QNAP NAS ;-), and the DMS is working as expected.
This is my second choice, as I would prefer to have the DMS running on the NAS to keep the number of servers to maintain to a minimum. That is the next step...

In the meantime, I will use the LetoDMS/Ubuntu, but I would like to use the database on the NAS (mySQL), as it already contains all our documents and other related stuff (and has an appropriate setup for DR and backup). How to do this?

Regards,
Søren

Using the database is simple. Just specify the hostname of your database server in the configuration. But you still need the content directory on your web server (ubuntu). I would export the directory with nfs and mount it on the web server.
