[split] Installation

Hi, would it be possible to send me the installation instructions also?

I've read the "readme" file in the LetoDMS package, but it refers to a LetoDMS_Core package that I can't seem to find anywhere.

Also I tried to follow the instructions shown at http://www.letodms.com/doc/doku.php?id=install:install, but I can't seem to find the variables mentioned in the inc.Settings.php
(I reached up to creating the table in the database, the user and executing create_tables.sql).

When I try to access the directory where I uploaded the letoDMS files, I get the message: "You does not seem to have a valid configuration. Run the install tool first." (which of course is understandable as I have not configured anything).
Clicking on "install tool", I get" "For installation of LetoDMS, you must create the file conf/ENABLE_INSTALL_TOOL"

This is where I'm completely stuck then.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please bear with my ignorance, as I'm new to this.

Thank you very much.

Create an empty file in the <path to letoDMS>/conf named "ENABLE_INSTALL_TOOL".

For example, on my host, I created the file /home/<user>/public_html/letodms/conf/ENABLE_INSTALL_TOOL. How to create that file will depend on how you access your server (ssh, ftp, etc).

The installer will delete this file once the installation is complete, and <path to letoDMS>/index.php will then present a login screen.

As far as the instructions you refer to, (step 7) modify inc/inc.Settings.php, this file has apparently moved to conf/conf.Settings.php, and conf/settings.xml. I'm not certain what the difference is between the two, but I modified both just to be sure.

The only configuration file is settings.xml. conf.Settings.php is a left over. I have just removed it from svn.

Uwe, util/check.php includes on conf.Settings.php. As it so happened, looking at the source of check.php helped me understand how to set the adodb path correctly.

check.php is obsolete. It may do some checks not done during install but I personally do not use and improve it anymore. During installation you will be asked for the adodb path.

Hi,

I might be wrong here but for version 3.3.0 the only variables that need set are within the settings.xml file.

I went through 3 different install instructions, one set told me to update inc.ClassSettings.php, another told me to update conf.Settings.php and one told me to update the settings.xml file. It was/is the settings.xml file that needs updating, the others can be ignored as (I don't think) they are used ?
