After using the browser cyberduck most functions work as you promised. :-)
Now I can upload a document to the DMS by drag and drop, I can open e.g. a uploaded word document with word, edit it and save it. Then a new version is stored in letoDMS. Fine!
There is only one aspect: as I opend a word document with mac finder, the document was "blocked" in letoDMS (it was locked by the user, who was working on this document).
This feature isn't working with cyberduck. :-(
This is not letodms' fault. cyberduck simply doesn't lock the document.

Normally this should not be allowed for a normal user (should only be allowed for admin), espacially not for my own documents.
You don't want to be able to delete your own documents?
Or is it just the fact that all versions are deleted.
What do you expect if a user deletes one of her documents?

Only the admin should be allowed to change something when document is released.
It could be a better way that a webdav uploaded document isn't released already. Should be "awaiting approval" first.
Do you agree, Uwe?
You are right. letodms has configuration options to enable/disable modifications/deletion of a version, but those are currently not regarded by the webdav server. I should fix that. Not releasing a document after upload via webdav, but putting it on approval appears to be a bit to complicated for the user, because it requires additional operations to release the document. BTW, who is put in as the approver?
Uwe
O.k., I'll try to contact the cyberduck developer and ask if he could fix that. :-)
concerning deleting own documents:
I think when a document is released it should stay the way it is. When I download e.g. Version 7, I have to be shure that Version 7 stays Version 7 and is the same as I downloaded it.
And once released the document should not be deleted because think of the following:
You have put 3 Versions of a document to the server. Then the last version is not O.k. for the owner. He can just delete the document and after that upload the same document in an updated version. Then Version 1 or 2 differs from what they were before.
And from the view of a configuration manager I have to make shure that if a document is uploaded and released once, it must stay the same!
Only the admin should be allowed to change it.
Same for uploading it by webDAV. No good to delete a complete document history by a user with webdav.
Concerning uploading and put it to approval I will answer later, cause I just ran out of time right now.
