upload several files at one time
#11
I would prefer a solution looks like the attached picture.

It will be perfect for me Big Grin if it will be possible that uploaded files can be shared to multiple subdirectories.

I'm no programmer may be it is to difficult to modify the script but its no need to upload the files via FTP. The current method how to upload is effectual.

When uploading several files at one time, they get filed in almost random order (maybe based on the upload speed for each file?). With a large number of files it becomes too cumbersome to try to reorder them after they upload. This is especially a problem when the files have a particular logical order (ie. dated minutes, photo sequences, etc).
It would be great if Letodms maintained the order specified. It would be even better if it maintained the order, and allowed (as others have suggested) uploading based on pointing it at a directory, instead of having to enter all the filenames.

Massive uploading is a pain in the ass with HTML. The current solution is the best way I've found without introducing revolutions.

Your observation about the order is right. The system should respect the order as set by the user in the upload page. I'll try this fix for the next release (current is 2.0.1).

This Idea is exactly what I was hoping for. I have seen other DMS programs that can manage this idea. Selecting a folder or even a set of folders filled with files. once selected the DMS system translates them all into like a mirror image of the folders selected. Perfect for initial setup as many people I'm sure would have many files they want in this DMS system. Even also if there were a button that you could hit that would make a synchronize between the 2 folders. eg: DMS folders chosen to hdd folders with files. after the sync process both folders on the DMS system and those on the actual physical HDD are the same.
It would be very handy as an example, using the laptop when away from internet for an amount of time and making of new files and even changing already files on your HDD, when you get internet connection simply login and press the sync button and everything is processed.
This is my first post and I do hope I am not out of line and would appreciate any comments.
Thanks all for your very good work and support. I'm sure it has so much potential and would be very glad to donate to this system in the short future.

One use is the initial upload of all documents.

I would also use it for upload of documents for sharing (documents we may share as a resource but not necessarily work on).

This would require a default setting in terms of comment, status etc.

It would be nice to have an option to select Release status or draft status with a default editor.

Every file should create a new document.

The name of the document should be same as the original file name.

Method of upload:
Multiple selection would be good, but also from a directory content.

I would love to simply tar.gz or zip a whole folder, upload it to a directory, extract the files and tell LetoDMS to create new documents for each file.

This means of course that I have to select the appropriate folder or subfolder.

I know nothing of programming, so I don't know if this is difficult, but it would be a brilliant addition!

Another minor issue: I would like to be able to change a Release status back to draft. It is a minor issue because I can just download it and upload it again, but why not have that option?

thank you very much
Michael

Should every file create a new document?
How to choose the name of the document?
Which way to upload several file (tar.gz, multiple selection, directory content)?
